Final Project - Link to My Digital Portfolio

My Digital Portfolio contains an introduction to me and my ideas about education. It is a compilation of all of the projects we have done in this class. There is a listing of those projects on the left sidebar including this blog, photoshop, inspiration, web 2.o, digital essay, non-linear powerpoint, and podcast. It also includes a list of some of the websites that I recommend for teachers and for students.
Let me know what you think...

  1. I really enjoyed reading your philosophy of education. I especially liked how you stated that education is always changing, and that teachers can no longer shoot out facts and expect students to remember them. Children these days need stimulation and hands on activities. I agree with you that children need to learn these technological tools in order to be successful in life. It is definitely important that children learn these skills and not information that they will most likely not need or use in the future. Children can definitely connect with people all over the world these days, which is not something that all of us could do when we were younger.

  2. I enjoyed reading your philosophy. It was well put together and I loved the statement you made about how education is mo longer about teachers stating facts and students memorizing them. I agree with you 110%! The educational world is evolving and as educators we need to keep up with those changes. I also agree that technology is critical in order for our students to be successful. You did an awesome job on your site! I enjoyed every aspect of it.

  3. I really enjoyed going through your site. It's very easy to navigate and everything matched (fonts, colors). I especially liked the focus of your content standard and that you stayed with that theme. Your powerpoint and web 2.0 are great lessons to implement in the classroom. I appreciate your dedication to the environment and I know you will influence your students to take better care of their world.

  4. Sonia, I really like the video that you have on your home page about to teach or to educate. I think sometimes teachers forget that our job is not only to teach, but to educate our students. I agree with your educational philosophy, our curriculum has become assessment based, and we teach to test, and this is not providing the students the opportunity to really learn. I like your digital story. I think you did a great job on your website. Have a great summer
